چکیده
Background: Cervical carcinoma is the most common cancer with a prevalence of 28.6% all cancers in women Indonesia and one leading causes death among gynecologic malignancies. Prevention understanding are needed terms initiation development precancerous lesions into cervical cancer. About 90% squamous cell carcinomas that develop from intraepithelial neoplasia. Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) an expression product proto-oncogene c-erbB-1 (HER-1), which plays role proliferation, differentiation acceleration transformation malignant cells. This study aimed to prove EGFR as progression factor neoplasia carcinoma. Methods: The design was cross-sectional analytic observational study, total sample 36, taken biopsy or surgery patients (CIN) invasive (SCC), whose tissues were examined at Anatomical Pathology Laboratory, Faculty Medicine, Universitas Udayana/Sanglah General Hospital. Histopathological diagnosis determination type malignancy carried out by staining Hematoxylin Eosin (H & E). immunohistochemical stain evaluated expression. Results: age range CIN 21-48 years SSC 33-61 years, mean 41.8 ± 10.55 years. A 16 (44.4%) showed namely 9 (25%) low-grade CIN, 7 (19.4%) high-grade 20 (55.6%) SCC. There significant difference SCC (p = 0.004). between 0.035) 0.003). no 0.441). Conclusion: has SCC, probably because this situ also included CIN.

Epidermal growth factor receptor expression in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
Chemoprevention trials designed to prevent progression to invasive cervical cancer will benefit from the identification of biomarkers that assess the risk of developing tumors, predict likelihood of response to treatment, and measure biological response to intervention. The purpose of this study was to examine expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) as a marker for progression of ...
متن کاملEpidermal Growth Factor Receptor Expression in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Immunohistochemical Technique and its Correlation with Clinicopathological Features
Background:Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common malignancy of the oral cavity. Despite some improvements in treatment, the survival rate is still very low, mainly due to the possible development of secondary malignancy or metastasis. Clinical and pathological features as well as molecular biomarkers might predict the recurrence. In recent years, many studies ...
متن کاملRole of Brg1 in progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Objective(s): Epigenetic regulation of gene expression can be carried out through chromatin remodeling enzymes such as SWI/SNF. Brg1 also known as SMARCA4 is a catalytic subunit of SWI/SNF, which is necessary for MMPs expression. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are known as important player enzymes during tumor progression and metastasis. Aberrant epigenetic modification of chromatin should be...
متن کاملAltered Expression of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) in Glioma
EGFR is a key molecule in cancer cells. EGFR signaling was shown to promote tumor cell proliferation and survival, invasion and angiogenesis and mediate resistance to treatment, including ionizing radiation in preclinical models. We extracted proteins from astrocytoma (III and IV) oligodendroglioma(IV) tumors and normal brain tissues and then evaluated the protein purity by Bradford test ...
